If you read Square Port, Round Hose you know I used a pop bottle, a heat gun, and some tape to attach my sander to my ShopVac, if you haven’t read it head over and give it a read.

I am happy to report that the pop bottle adaptor was worth every penny I spent on it and more. This thing worked like a charm. The only downside is that the tape eventually let go from the sander but that was after a good hour of non-stop use, humid conditions, and maybe 5-6mm of surface area on the sander to attach the tape to.

So, if you have a sander with a non-standard exhaust port with a non-existent (or overpriced) adaptor I can recommend this 20-minute project. I think Stingy Sailor would be proud.
